How We Work

Seven stages,
and nobody
goes first

A private car sale usually stalls on one question: does the money move before the keys, or after? Ukki answers it by holding the money in the middle and releasing it only when everything else is done.

The deal, stage by stage

Each step unlocks the next. None of them are optional.

01

Agree the deal

Buyer & seller

Either you found each other on the Ukki marketplace, or you already know each other and are using Ukki purely to make the sale safe. Both sides confirm the car and the price. Nothing is charged at this point.
02

Both parties are verified

Ukki

Buyer and seller each complete Aadhaar-anchored KYC, a PAN check and a liveliness check. A deal cannot progress until both sides are verified — this is the step that removes impersonation and the classic advance-payment scam.
03

The car is inspected

Ukki-certified inspector

An inspector visits the car and runs a 200-point physical check — engine and transmission, underbody, brakes and tyres, electricals, body and paint, documents and odometer. The report goes to both parties, unedited. A buyer who does not like what they read can stop here.
04

The buyer funds the deal

Buyer

The buyer transfers the agreed amount to an account controlled by Ukki — not to the seller. The seller can see the money is committed and real, but it is frozen. If the buyer needs a loan, the partner bank disburses into the same deal.
05

Any existing loan is closed

Ukki

If the seller still owes money on the car, Ukki settles it from the buyer’s funds, collects the NOC and the original documents from the financier, and treats only the balance as the seller’s proceeds. Sellers never have to find the closure amount themselves first.
06

Ownership is transferred

Ukki

We prepare Forms 29 and 30, assemble the documents from both sides, obtain the NOC where an inter-state move is involved, and file with the RTO. The RTO’s own turnaround varies by state — that part is genuinely not in our hands — but you see the stage it is at rather than nothing.
07

Delivery, and the seller is paid

Ukki logistics

The car is picked up and delivered through a vetted partner, insured and location-tracked. Once the handover is complete, Ukki releases the payment to the seller. The buyer has the car and the paperwork; the seller has the money. Nobody had to go first.

What holds it together

Three rules the platform will not bend.

Money never passes between strangers

Every rupee moves through Ukki, and it moves onward only when a milestone both parties agreed to has actually happened.

Nobody is anonymous

Both sides are identity-verified before the deal progresses, and every action on the deal is recorded against a real person.

You can see the stage you are at

Inspection, funding, loan closure, RTO filing, delivery — each has a visible status, so “what is happening with my deal” is never a phone call.

Already have a buyer?

Selling to someone you know is the case Ukki was built for.

You have agreed the price between yourselves. Start a direct deal and use Ukki only for the parts that can go wrong — the payment, the loan closure, the paperwork and the handover.

Nobody moves first. That is the whole idea.

Verified people, an inspected car, money held in the middle, and paperwork that someone else files.
